D&R Charters offers a wide variety of fishing trips. If you're not sure what's best for you, please feel free to send us an email or give us a call. We can also customize any trip that’ll fit your needs.
These are perfect small trips for families with little ones who are looking to get out and enjoy some fun on the water without staying out all day. Whiting, sharks, drum, redfish, spanish mackerel, bluefish are just some of the species you may find on this trip.
Our popular half-day inshore trips target redfish, black drum, whiting, sharks and rays. Rarely traveling more than 5 miles each way, the boat stays in relatively protected waters, making these trips ideal for beginners and those not comfortable in rougher water. That's not to say these aren't exciting outings, though. Our redfish and drum can top 60 lbs. and put up incredible fights. The smaller specimens are also excellent table fare. Jetty and river trips last about 4 hours, are for up to 6 guests, and typically depart at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Custom departures can be arranged if schedule permits.
Our Nearshore Reefs and Wrecks trips venture beyond the jetties to fish the area's many natural reefs, man made structure, and shipwrecks for a variety of species including black seabass, kingfish, cobia, snapper, grouper, barracuda, jack crevalle, and sharks. Nearshore reef and wreck trips are for up to 6 guests. We typically leave the dock around 7 a.m., but we can adjust departure times. 8-30mi offshore.
These longer trips allow us to reach deeper structure spots 40 to 65 miles offshore that hold more exciting species and see less fishing pressure. In addition to many of the same species we catch on the shallower wrecks and reefs, we regularly find various grouper species, vermillion snapper (aka bee-liners), triggerfish, amberjack, african pompano, mangrove snapper, mutton snapper and red snapper (when in season). It's also not uncommon to catch kingfish, wahoo, sailfish, blackfin tuna, and mahi mahi while trolling between bottom-fishing spots or even floating a flat-line out of the back, while on anchor. Up to 5 guests leaving the dock @ 6am.
Venturing as far as 75 miles offshore to the warm blue waters of the Gulf Stream, these trips target billfish, wahoo, mahi mahi, and blackfin tuna. Gulf Stream trips are for up to 5 guests and leave the dock in between5-6am.. Also, you have the ability to split up this trip between trolling and bottom fishing or bottom fish the whole 12hrs.
When we're not fishing, we offer private, customized scenic cruises to Fort Clinch and Cumberland Island. In addition to historic sites, you're likely to see dolphins, marine turtles, the island's famous wild horses, and other wildlife including deer, wild turkeys, foxes and more. You're welcome to bring your own food, wine, beer, and music to play on the boat's sound system. Scenic cruises last about 2 hours and cost $400 for up to 6 guests. We highly recommend scheduling your cruise for sunset, but we're happy to go at other times.
Sure, Amelia Island is a serene getaway with a rich history, luxurious resorts, stunning golf courses, and pristine beaches. But most importantly — at least in our book — it's a diverse, exciting, and productive year-round fishery. We'd even go so far as to say that no visit here is truly complete without bending a rod.
To find out for yourself, we invite you to join us aboard the spacious and meticulously maintained Ring Money, Amelia Island's five star charter boat. We offer fishing trips ranging from family-friendly, half-day outings for redfish and black drum to Gulf Stream adventures targeting mahi mahi, wahoo, billfish and tuna.
With over 18 years of professional fishing experience, we pride ourselves not only on keeping guests' rods bent but also on providing the kind of experience they want — whether that means hardcore fishing, family fun, or anything in between.
We strive for professionalism from the moment you dial our phone number to the moment you walk back to your vehicle with your cleaned and bagged fillets. That means maintaining a safe and well-equipped boat with plenty of comfortable seating. That means providing top-of-the-line gear, all bait and tackle, and plenty of cold storage for your catch. And that means customizing departure times and trip durations to meet your needs. Give us a call and let's go fishing!
